So Glasgow then, what a great city! Apparantly it used to be a bit grim until about twenty years ago before they started smartening it all up. There are streets in the city centre with 18th century redbrick buildings sitting next to brand new steel and glass structures, both beautiful in their own way and the one enhancing the other.

We arrived early (about 10:30) and headed out into the city for a bit of a wander around. the sun was shining and the pipers were out in force. Bagpipes on every corner might seem a little twee but it gave a real feeling of place.

The rest of guys arrived and suitably togged up we headed out to lauras bash, after a bite to eat.

She'd hired the top of a place called Sloans which was a pubat ground level a dining room on the first floor and a ballroom at the top. Balloons, sweets, beer and music made fora superb night.

Sunday the guys headed out in the wilds of scotland whilst Em and I went for a wander around the streets of Glasgow. We headed to the college of art designed by Rennie Mackintosh who was the Mac Daddy of pre war design but destined to never be popular in his own time.

The school is a masterpiece of playing around with symitry and expectation and ends up being so well put together its a work of art in itself.

I tried desperatly to find a pub that was showing the rugby game but it was all fitba that side of the border.

Then we met up with the guys and headed out for a curry and a few icy cold german beers in the Bier Hall where a quick chat with the guy who turned out to be the owner got us a free round of schnapps! Damn my likeablity!

The next morning we headed home with a spring in the step.
